Back to School – Part 2 – Tropical Paradise

And…more work for the MIID Summer School program. This time, I’m focusing on the Beginner Track, Brief 1.

Unlike the Intermediate Track design I put together, this design required a lot of time in the sketching phase (and a lot of time getting converting paper and pencil to digital).

After about a zillion hours creating silhouettes from the sketches in Illustrator, and then a lot of fiddling, tweaking, a little hair-pulling, and some more fiddling, I created the following pattern design….

And, just for kicks, I mocked it up in a tableware product line. ‘Cause, you know, I have so much extra time on my hands.

Tomorrow, I’ll have my hands full tackling the oh-so-cool, yet oh-so-challenging Advanced Track project. Can’t wait!
